obama08:election08: Barack Obama’s new ad. “Dignity.” I love the tagline, “… and never forget the dignity that comes from work.”
Normally people would use the word “respect” or “self resepct” in that context. But while “self respect” is judgemental when used in a political ad about jobs, “dignity” is an old-fashioned, wholesome positive word.
It’s also a perfect word to describe Obama, who never looks undignified or ruffled, expect perhaps a little bit when he was taking that basketball shot.
